Steel chimneys are classified as vibrating tower structures. Depending on the degree of slenderness, the location of the system and local buildings, transverse vibrations cannot be ruled out. The use of vibration dampers, whose mode of operation is based on mass inertia, minimizes the natural frequency and thus prevents the steel chimney system from rocking. The damper weight is based on a fixed or hydraulic mass.
